ummmm… as a future kid who is attending votec at hartford this year in culinary, yea u should definitely tip the waiter. it is ur responsibility to. u would if u were nice, if u didnt tip them then ur a completely rude asshole!! and i feel bad for waiters having to deal with retards like lynda. if i was a waitress (im not gonna be, im gonna be a cook instead), id shove the burning hot tray of food in their face considering useless meatheads deserve it!!

Actually, it is your responsibility as a customer to tip your waiter for service. I am all for not tipping when the service is awful, but when the service is good, you as a customer are obligated to leave a tip. In response to your librarian comment, many library employees are volunteers and the others make minimum wage or above. In the service industry, waiters make approx. $4 an hour + tips.

And on a side note, if you really are a teacher, your lack of proper capitalization is appalling.

it is not my responsibility to pay your wages – it is the responsibility of your employer.
i do not employ you.
your job is to bring me the food i ordered.
why would i pay you to do your job?
i am not your employer.

do you tip me when i check out your books at the library?

Thank you very much for the compliment. By the way, people with existential crises and a penchant for sarcasm are the very best kind of people. Aside from maybe nuns. But they have a tendency to be a bit mean, so I guess that one’s still up in the air
